Our Journey

From a university college to a fully chartered private university, KAAF has been at the forefront of academic excellence and innovation in Ghana.

Founded in 2006, KAAF University College began with a vision to provide world-class education in engineering and business. Today, we have evolved into a comprehensive institution serving over 5,000 students across 24 academic programs in engineering, business, health sciences, law, computer science, and more.

Our commitment to applied learning and research has made us a premier destination for students seeking practical, industry-relevant education that prepares them for the evolving workplace requirements. As a fully chartered university, we operate independently with complete academic autonomy.

Our History

A journey of growth and excellence from 2006 to 2025

2006

Foundation Established

KAAF University College was incorporated under the Companies Code Act 179 of 1963, marking the beginning of our educational journey.

2008-2009

First Academic Year

Admissions began with a handful of pioneering students. The Faculty of Engineering was established, followed by the Department of Business, initially affiliated with KNUST.

2012

Rapid Growth

Within 4 years, student population grew to nearly 1,000 students, with the Engineering Faculty having the larger number of students.

2015

Health Programs Launch

Expanded academic offerings with Health programs initially affiliated to UDS (University for Development Studies), broadening our scope in healthcare education.

2020

Law & Political Science

Introduced Law and Political Science programs initially affiliated to GIMPA (Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration), diversifying our academic portfolio.

2024

Full University Charter

Achieved a major milestone by becoming a fully chartered private university, gaining complete academic autonomy and recognition. All programs now operate independently.

2025

Current Status

Today, we serve over 5,000 students across 31 academic programs in engineering, business, law, nursing, computer science, and more, operating as a fully independent chartered university.
