Geomatic Engineering

About the Department

Geomatic Engineers play a critical role in national development by managing spatial data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation, and supporting all geographically based development projects essential for a growing country. Their expertise ensures accurate mapping, land administration, environmental monitoring, infrastructure planning, and the effective management of natural and built resources.

At KAAF University, the Geomatic Engineering programme is uniquely structured to combine strong academic instruction with intensive practical training. The University has distinguished itself by producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also highly practical‑oriented and ready for fieldwork. Through a teaching approach that emphasizes research, problem‑based learning, and extension services, students are trained to apply theoretical knowledge directly to real‑world challenges.

The programme prepares graduates to establish successful careers in their chosen areas of specialization, equipping them with the competence to “go to the field and dirty their hands” — confidently engaging in surveying, mapping, geospatial analysis, land management, and other professional tasks that require precision, innovation, and hands‑on expertise.

KAAF University remains committed to developing Geomatic Engineers who contribute meaningfully to national development through accurate data, responsible land use, and sustainable spatial planning.
