The BSc Nursing programme at KAAF University is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the theories, concepts, and practical skills that constitute modern nursing practice. It equips students to deliver holistic care—physical, psychological, social, and spiritual—to individuals, families, and communities.

The programme integrates classroom learning, laboratory practice, and extensive clinical placements in partner hospitals such as 37 Military Hospital (Accra), Trauma and Specialist Hospital (Winneba), Achimota Hospital, and St. Gregory Catholic Hospital, Buduburam.

The programme spans four years and combines theory with clinical practice. Core areas include:

Students undertake practical placements each year, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in real healthcare settings.

Graduates of the BSc Nursing programme will be able to:

  • Demonstrate competence in health promotion, disease prevention, and rehabilitation.

  • Library resources including nursing journals, databases, and e-books.

  • Dedicated faculty and preceptors to supervise clinical training.

Graduates are well-prepared for diverse career paths, including:

  • Registered Nurse in hospitals, clinics, and community health centers.

  • Public Health Nurse.

  • Mid-level healthcare manager or administrator.

  • Occupational Health Nurse.

  • Nursing Educator (with further training).

  • Research Assistant in health and nursing sciences.

The programme also provides a strong foundation for postgraduate studies in Nursing, Public Health, and related fields.

Candidates applying to the programme must meet the following entry requirements:

WASSCE I SSCE  – Six (6) credit passes (A1-C6) including English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and any three (3) relevant elective subject in General Science. General Arts or Home Economics with an overall aggregate of 36 or better.

Diploma Holders: Applicants with diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution plus licensure examinations of the Nursing and Midwifery Council will be admitted to the third year.

Access Programme: Holders of NAC/HAC/NAP/CHNC certificates will do the six(6) weeks access course before admitting into BSc. Nursing  Programme.

Enrolled Nurse: Holders can gain admission to the six-week ACCESS programme.
